UNIQUE transatlantic country blues rockers hey Negrita have announced a series of new live dates in support of their forthcoming album Burn The Whole Place Down.
The shows, which include frontman Felix Bechtolsheimer and co’s largest ever London headline date at the capital’s Dingwalls on October 1, are part of a series of activities leading up to the release of the new record on October 5.
All-acoustic LP Burn The Whole Place Down, inspired by the success of acoustic performances for the BBC, was recorded in a five-hour spur of the moment session and is already getting rave previews in the musical world.
To support the release of the album, hey Negrita will play the following live dates, with more still to follow:
The Dingwalls gig will double up as a special album launch party for Burn The Whole Place Down, and hey Negrita will be joined by very special guests including The Urban Voodoo Machine, The Barker Band and Will Hanson.
Frontman Felix said: “This is our biggest London headline show so far, so come on down and get involved.”
Advance tickets, priced at £8, are available now at Musicglue (featuring a free download from each artist), Ticketmaster, Ticketweb, See Tickets and Wegottickets.com.
In other hey Negrita news, We Dreamed America – the documentary by award-winning director Alex Walker that features Felix and co – was recently streamed in its entirety in high resolution on the Daily Motion homepage. The documentary trailer alone accumulated 14,000 hits in a single night.
And the brilliant animated video for single One Mississippi – the first in a series of three zombie-themed clips put together by animation studio PEW 36 – has already attracted more than 93,000 views on Daily Motion. You can view it here:
Well, I now have the second of the zombie-themed animated videos, set to the sounds of awesome album track Nine To Five, available for hosting. I was wondering whether you’d be up for running the video on the website? Again it’s very visually impressive, the zombie theme is very entertaining and the song’s pretty darn tasty, too!
Amazingly, the video has already broken 100,000 views on Daily Motion! You can watch it here:
Hey Negrita is it cold
In your little corner of the world
You could roll around the globe
And never find a warmer soul to know
Oh I saw you by the wall
Ten of your tin soldiers in a row
With eyes that looked like ice on fire
The human heart a captive in the snow
Oh Negrita You will never know anything about my home
I'll never know how good it feels to hold you
Negrita I need you so
Oh Negrita is the other side of any given line in time
Counting ten tin soldiers in a row
Oh no, Negrita you'll never know
Do you ever dream of me
Do you ever see the letters that I write
When you look up through the wire
Negrita do you count the stars at night
And if there comes a time
Guns and gates no longer hold you in
And if you're free to make a choice
Just look towards the west and find a friend
