Altsounds - Tom Brosseau Prepares For Solo East Coast And Releases New Music Video!

Always-charming, often disarming Tom Brosseau is pleased to announce a string of shows on the east coast in support of his recent release, Posthumous Success (out now on FatCat), followed by a happy homecoming show at Los Angeles’ The Troubadour. Tom will be traveling solo across the eastern seaboard via America's underused railways, guitar on back, playing songs from his most recent offering, as well as old favorites from his robust back catalog, with stops along the way at KSCR in Los Angeles, WERS in Cambridge, and WKDU in Philadelphia for live in-studio performances. Those lucky enough to see him will get a taste of what has made fans out of PJ Harvey, Bono, and Natalie Portman. Tom was also recently featured in the documentary film Largo (with Flight of the Conchords) about the influential Los Angeles club, where he recently sang a duet with John C. Reilly (Boogie Nights)!

Gearing up for his tour and his show at The Troubadour (accompanied by Correatown) with Elvis Perkins & Other Lives, Tom has made a music video for his song “You Don’t Know My Friends,” shot by Seth Kotok on Super 8 and directed by Jamie Seborer. Roaming downtown Los Angeles in a cowboy hat and “Looking like Jon Voight's character Joe Buck in Midnight Cowboy, the singer with the gentle warble and the rich guitar seems lost, but on a mission,” says Randall Roberts of LA Weekly. It’s clear Tom has a love affair with the city he calls home, and shows it with this rambling escapade of undeveloped encounters and potential infatuations.

This tour also coincides with the release of Posthumous Success on record, the first time Tom has pressed his music to vinyl. Copies will be available directly from Tom at his shows and from your favorite indie record shops on September 22nd.
