OCTOBER SKY WINS GBOB - “BEST NEW BAND IN CANADA”

On Saturday, September 12th, 2009, Montreal's OCTOBER SKY won the Canadian National Finals of the Global Battle of Bands in Quebec City. October Sky shared the stage with multi-platinum Canadian artists Alexisonfire and California’s punk rock legends Bad Religion after beating out 60 bands in Canada for the title of “Best New Band”. October Sky will be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to the World Finals in London UK, December ’09.

Steve Joliceur, Videographer/Judge for GBOB stated, “October Sky is one of the best bands they’ve seen/heard in the last 4 years of competitions.”

October Sky stands to win a development package worth over $100,000 USD including a week of recording time, a 10 date United Kingdom tour and $10,000 USD in cash.

“We’re so psyched to be representing Canada with this great opportunity to go to London for the finals and break into several other markets around the world.” commented October Sky keyboardist Yanik Rouleau.

October Sky will be performing as a Headliner at INDIE WEEK CANADA on Thursday, October 8th, 2009 @ The Hideout located at 484 Queen St. W., Toronto.
