The Crave formally mark their arrival into the musical mainstream with debut full-release single, High.
Produced by Mark Flannery (Def Leppard) and mixed by Mat Hyde (Funeral for a Friend, Bullet for my Valentine), High is an anthemic slice of summer splendour, taken from their as-yet untitled debut album, slated for release in early 2010.
The release of High comes off the back of a hugely successful year for The Crave. They have toured the UK and Europe with Shinedown, Hot Leg, Hinder & Buckcherry and performed at some of Europe’s biggest festivals including Rock Im Park, Rock Am Ring, Download & Sonisphere. The Crave are currently on a co-headline UK tour with Gundogs, and have just been announced as support for Deep Purple’s UK arena tour!
Frontman Ryan Burnett explains, “High is a song about having a special place where you can always go to be yourself, it can be anywhere, somewhere where all your problems don't seem to matter. It was written about a place that me and all my friends used to go to that we called 'The Cross', on top of this huge hill with the most amazing view you have ever seen. We'd go up there with cases of beer and just drink, laugh and play music, not give a shit about anything, and usually not go home until daylight.”
Back in a simpler time there was no ‘indie’, no ‘emo’, no ‘nu-rave’. No ‘post-this’ or ‘post-that’. Instead there was just riff-laden, ballsy rock ‘n’ roll - huge songs, life-changing gigs and a whole world of noisy, gutsy fun that took people out of their dreary everyday lives and made them simply feel happy. It’s from this effervescent historical well that The Crave draw their inspirations. But this is no retro pastiche; these boys are young, talented and firmly committed to bringing anthemic, arena-filling classic rock songwriting back with a vengeance.
It’s the Foo Fighters and AC/DC in a booze-fuelled riff showdown. It’s Tom Petty and Aerosmith in a bare-knuckle dust up over who’s got the bigger hooks.
It’s The Crave, and you’re going to love it!
