The Nextmen 'Round of Applause' single release Round Of Applause is the second single to be taken from The Nextmen’s stunning 4th studio album Join The Dots which is out now. Following up the clubland smash first single that was The Lion’s Den feat. Ms. Dynamite and Andy Cato (Groove Armada), Round Of Applause is The Nextmen doing what they do best; it’s top drawer, laid back hip hop which features their long time collaborator Dynamite MC throwing down over the top of a classic piece of The Meters’ inspired funk. It’s pure Nextmen on tip top form! In recent months, there’s almost nowhere The Nextmen haven’t been. They’ve played at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Lovebox, Naasfest, Fabric Live and the Notting Hill Carnival as well as launching their new album at Cargo. They’ve been album of the month in iDJ, DJ and RWD magazine as well as being featured in press across the board. They’ve played live in The Hub with Cerys on BBC 6 Music, they’ve been interviewed by Zane Lowe on Radio 1 and won Steve Lamacq’s Roundtable as well as being played by the likes of Annie Mac, Mistajam, Toddla T & Ras Kwame. After that you’d think they’d be slumped face down in a heap but there’s still so much more to come with a UK/European tour lined up for October and November alongside Radio 1 mixes for Annie Mac and Rob Da Bank before they fly off for a headline tour in Australia and NZ. Phew….. The men behind The Nextmen name are Brad Baloo (real name Brad Ellis) and Dom Search (Dominic Betmead). This year Brad and Dom celebrate a decade of The Nextmen by unveiling new material and hitting the road for several dates. Originally from Cambridge and now residing in North London, the pair first joined forces to create a remix for London Posse and since then have worked with Public Enemy, Ty, Blackalicious, Sway, Kidz In The Hall, The Pharcyde and others; released three increasingly accomplished studio albums, a reggae compilation and some fantastic mixtapes; undertaken numerous remixes and played all around the world several times over. Round Of Applause is taken from The Nextmen’s cracking new album, Join The Dots - the duo’s fourth studio outing. Inspired by The Nextmen’s wide-ranging DJ sets and love of a broad range of music, Join The Dots includes elements of hip-hop, soul, dancehall, dubstep, breakbeats, ambient and pop styles. As well as Dynamite MC, Brad and Dom have personally recruited various guest vocalists to join the party including Ms. Dynamite, Andy Cato, Betty Steeles, Lindsay West, Kivanc and Roots Manuva endorsed Banana Clan man Jimmy Screech. |
