With support from: Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Young Rebel Set, Turboweekend, Dansette Junior, Little Death
The Levi’s® OnesToWatch® London Residencies are back in town with three hot servings of live gigs as the colder months draw closer. The shindigs will showcase emerging talent from all over the UK, and a band all the way from Denmark.
The October shows kick-off with a night of feel-good music to lift the spirits, lead by Londoners Citadels who will test out their psychedelic synth-pop on the culture hungry revellers of East London. Their single ‘Golden Islands’ was recently released on Friends Vs Records on limited edition 7” and download. Supporting them at the Macbeth are Anders Kallmark protégées Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Dansette Junior.
The following week on 15th October, former Mumm-Ra front man James New brings his new band Mirrors to the stage, gracing Camden’s Barfly with their pop-noir sound. The band’s latest single, ‘Look At Me’ is currently out on Pure Groove Records. Also on the bill, Young Rebel Set; a band causing a stir among their local scene in the North East,andsynth-poppers Turboweekend, over from Copenhagen.
The third October Residency held at The Borderline on 22nd October, sees joint headliners Kurran and the Wolfnotes and Exlovers strut their stuff at what is expected to be an oversubscribed show. Both bands are currently being produced by the legendary Stephen Street, of The Smiths and Blur fame, and both also share a penchant for a gypsy, indie-folk sound, and close girl-boy vocals. Kurran And The Wolfnotes’ latest single ‘Whatabitch’ is out on Oct 19th as a 7” on Chess Club Records, and Exlovers new five track EP ‘You Forget So Easily’ was released in September also through Chess Club. Completing theline-up are Little Death.
