Hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Articles’, released in July 09 (“Articles is an innovative noise worth writing home about. 4/5” Q), Surrey hard rockers OUTCRY COLLECTIVE release their video to banging track ‘Dead In The Water’. The performance video was filmed in an old locomotive factory Bolton, UK. Years ago, factories like this in Northern England used to ship thousands of workers in every day, now the only occupants are rows upon rows of old tyres. The vid gives viewers a glimpse of the band’s highly praised live show, recently seen touring the UK with THE DEAD FORMATS. For the Londoners amongst you, the band played a one off show at Camden Barfly 16th September.
The video, directed by
Sitcom Soldiers (Therapy?, In Case Of Fire), shows charismatic frontman Steve Sitkowski, guitarist Chris Phelps, bassist Rob Pryor and drummer Sam Burden in their element, doing what they do best – rocking out with
huge riffs, slamming beats, trademark bluesy basslines and urgent vocals. The result is a video from 4 talented young British musicians that will make you run out into the street and high five the first person you meet.
OUTCRY COLLECTIVE released debut EP ‘Pay Per View Love’ in 2007, and headed out on tour, picking up fans all over the country, and became one of the UK’s most hyped underground rock acts. With debut album ‘Articles’, the band explored their sound further, with elements of Hardcore, Metal, Rock and Pop – think RATM, QOTSA and The Bronx . In preparation for recording the album, the band personally gutted out and soundproofed a pig sty and rebuilt their own recording studio, practice/live room and vocal booth spending two months sharing a house next door to the studio, recording, mixing and producing the album entirely by themselves.
OUTCRY COLLECTIVE head out on tour with Gay For Johnny Depp and Blakfish for the TRIPLE THREAT TOUR, 13th Nov – 4th Dec.
