The centerpiece of John Vanderslice's Romanian Names, the perfect pop gem "Too Much Time," is now being released as a limited-edition 7" on October 6th. The song received Song Of the Day honors by NPR, whose critics called Romanian Names "his best record yet." The single features the infectious exclusive b-side "Moon Rocks," a song that fits neatly alongside Romanian Names.
All pre-orders of the 7" will receive an instant download of both "Too Much Time" and "Moon Rocks."
Dead Oceans is also proud to share an unreleased track from JV. "Too Much Time" began as a demo with JV's vocal melodies soaring simply over synthesizers, and we are happy to share this awesome alternate version with the internet.
