The tour marks their most extensive run since their sold-out world tour following the success of their Oscar-winning soundtrack 'Once.' The duo's live shows have been described as "cathartic" (Chicago Tribune), "mesmerizing" (Cleveland Plain Dealer) and "magnetic" (Arizona Republic). In their fall music preview, the Wall Street Journal said 'Strict Joy' "builds on the couple's earthy musical chemistry by adding layers, such as the reserved horns on "Low Rising," a slow burning soul number." A website, a video, a free download, a tourist guide, a love letter to their Swedish hometown. Oh yes, and it’s a tantalisingly brilliant POP song too. Download it here: Air FranceAir France> Crown City Rockers bump Astroshocks ![]() Crown City Rockers emcee Raashan Ahmad has an incredibly smooth delivery for a wordsmith with such tongue twisting rhymes. Listening to "Astroshocks'" percolating beat, it's easy to miss the fact that he's throwing couplets like "Good grief! Gallivantin' gallopin' throwin' up javelins / travelin' that again? That'll blend magic and miracle" like it's nothing. Also remarkable is the fact that this intricate track is comprised of all live instruments... Drummer Max MacVeety lays down a foundation to make any drum machine short circuit with jealousy, while keyboard virtuoso Kat Ouano takes us to outerspace on a collection of 70s analog synthesizers. The band's first album in 5 years, The Day After Forever, drops September 29th on Gold Dust. Tangentially connected to the burgeoning freak folk and new noise communities, but perhaps closer to individualists such as High Places or Bird Show, ‘Sacred Psalms’ is a great new album by a band who – amidst an ocean of derivitive/ generic copyists – really are finding their own voices and doing something a little bit different. We believe they fully deserve your attention. Our Brother The Native on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music DownloadsFeaturing current core members Josh Bertram (vocals, guitar, saxophone, piano, banjo, organ, synth, drums /percussion, programming/samples/noise) and Chaz Knapp (vocals, guitar, banjo), the band's creative process has been a mixture of working individually in isolation, sending material and ideas back and forth across the internet, and occasionally coming together to rehearse, record and tour.
