THE SWELL SEASON ANNOUNCE 'STRICT JOY' TOUR FOR FALL

The Swell Season will bring their bittersweet and beautiful new album 'Strict Joy' (Oct. 27, Anti-) to a live setting this fall with over two dozen US dates. The tour marks their most extensive run since their sold-out world tour following the success of their Oscar-winning soundtrack 'Once.' The duo's live shows have been described as "cathartic" (Chicago Tribune), "mesmerizing" (Cleveland Plain Dealer) and "magnetic" (Arizona Republic).

In their fall music preview, the Wall Street Journal said 'Strict Joy' "builds on the couple's earthy musical chemistry by adding layers, such as the reserved horns on "Low Rising," a slow burning soul number." You can listen to the track on IFC.com at the link below.

AIR FRANCE // GOTHENBURG BELONGS TO ME // NEW SINGLE

DOWNLOAD ONLY SINGLE TAKEN FROM AIR FRANCE’S “LOVE AFFAIR IN 3 PARTS” TO GOTHENBURG
OUT 19.10.09

Locked away in their Gothenburg studio making their debut album with a newly minted publishing deal from XL Recordings under their arm, AIR FRANCE offer fans an autumnal gift to tide them over the seasonal come down.

A website, a video, a free download, a tourist guide, a love letter to their Swedish hometown.

Oh yes, and it’s a tantalisingly brilliant POP song too.

Crown City Rockers bump Astroshocks

Crown City Rockers emcee Raashan Ahmad has an incredibly smooth delivery for a wordsmith with such tongue twisting rhymes. Listening to "Astroshocks'" percolating beat, it's easy to miss the fact that he's throwing couplets like "Good grief! Gallivantin' gallopin' throwin' up javelins / travelin' that again? That'll blend magic and miracle" like it's nothing. Also remarkable is the fact that this intricate track is comprised of all live instruments... Drummer Max MacVeety lays down a foundation to make any drum machine short circuit with jealousy, while keyboard virtuoso Kat Ouano takes us to outerspace on a collection of 70s analog synthesizers. The band's first album in 5 years, The Day After Forever, drops September 29th on Gold Dust.

Also, don't miss Crown City Rockers performing in CA

9/25- Earthdance Festival (Laytonville, CA)
9/30- UC Riverside (Riverside, CA)
10/1- The Root Down (Los Angeles, CA)
10/2- The Independent (San Francisco, CA)
10/17- Treasure Island Music Festival (San Francisco, CA)

Our Brother The Native - UK dates for October

Our Brother The Native's latest LP, ‘Sacred Psalms’ (FatCat, 2009) is a gorgeous, mature, hope-catalysing record that sees the band's combined influences simultaneously increase tenfold and be transcended by their ingenuity and intent. Tangentially connected to the burgeoning freak folk and new noise communities, but perhaps closer to individualists such as High Places or Bird Show, ‘Sacred Psalms’ is a great new album by a band who – amidst an ocean of derivitive/ generic copyists – really are finding their own voices and doing something a little bit different. We believe they fully deserve your attention.

Featuring current core members Josh Bertram (vocals, guitar, saxophone, piano, banjo, organ, synth, drums /percussion, programming/samples/noise) and Chaz Knapp (vocals, guitar, banjo), the band's creative process has been a mixture of working individually in isolation, sending material and ideas back and forth across the internet, and occasionally coming together to rehearse, record and tour.

NEON INDIAN PLAY DEBUT UK SHOWS SEPT 26 - 29

Surfing in on a wave of excitement and acclaim Stateside, enigmatic blissed-out pop purveyors Neon Indian finally touch down in the UK for a handful of club dates later this month.

Initially causing a stir in the blogosphere with the songs “Deadbeat Summer” and “Terminally Chill” (indeed, none other than Pitchfork anointed “Deadbeat Summer” one of the Best New Tracks), the mysterious new musical project from Alan Palomo now also have an incredible debut album “Psychic Chasms”, completed and ready for release in the UK imminently. For those unfamiliar with their sound, imagine effervescently offbeat, woozily gorgeous pop songs wrapped in a gauzy haze of nostalgia and warmth; lovingly crafted gems of leftfield beauty like no other. These shows will be unmissable.

UPCOMING SHOWS:

Sept 26 – Cargo w/ Magistrates, Alexander Robotnick, The Chap, Modular DJ’s and more, doors open at 8pm, pay what you wish
Sept 28 – The Harley, Sheffield, doors open at 8pm
