“America’s Playmate” October 13th, 2009
As the brainchild behind the punk-pop inspired dance rock project, Sunday Night Scene, Jimme Coccaro’s unquestionable ambition to make music a reality is pure. And America’s Playmate -- his debut LP out October 13th via iTunes and Chamberlain Records -- is just a glimpse of what’s to come from this incredibly likable songwriter and performer. Quickly making a name for himself in the Northeast, Jimmie has shared the stage with the likes of All Time Low, Cartel, A Rocket Summer, and Valencia.
With all the cards stacked in his favor, Sunday Night Scene is prepped and ready to release his newest album “America’s Playmate” on October 13th via Chamberlain Records. Coinciding with the release of the new record, SNS will head out on the “America’s Playmate Tour” hitting almost every major city in the nation.
Sunday Night Scene is a genre-blending mix of indie rock and punk pop with slight synth beats, straightforward lyrics mixed with Jimme’s genuine sense of humor. Writing songs that are completely from the heart fuels his creativity and being able to relate to his peers is crucial. Culling inspiration, too, from the likes of Blink-182, Brand New, and The Startling Line only adds to Sunday Night Scene’s long-lasting impression.
Upon releasing his debut EP, A Lil’ Glam, So Shameless, in 2008, Sunday Night Scene began gaining some momentum thanks to several national tours and during this time, Sunday Night Scene’s “View of Dakota” landed on MTV2, while the acoustic guitar-driven ballad “Midnight Pre Rum” appeared on Fuse TV’s via the “Make a Star” contest in February 2009.
America’s Playmate, which will feature four brand new tracks, offers something for everyone. Positioned to be one of 2009’s brightest pop moments thanks to its catchy composition, Coccaro embraces being the shy guy who’s afraid of approaching the pretty girl at the party on feel-good anthem “Hip Hip Hooray.” More introspective tunes such as “Postcards” and “Hollywood Dream” reflect on missing home, and the complexities one faces when pursuing your dream, respectively.
