POST WAR YEARS SINGLE & LIVE DATES!

POST WAR YEARS SINGLE & LIVE DATES!

Released through Wealth, 26th October 2009

For those of you familiar with Post War Years’ staggeringly brilliant and original album ‘The Greats and The Happenings’ released earlier this year to a Mexican wave of critics raising their hands in appreciation; new single ‘Soul Owl’ will have been embraced as one of the highlights on a somewhat astonishing debut. For those who somehow missed the introduction to this remarkable quartet, the track signals the hour to shake out the sand from your skull and pay attention.

The single marks a brief period of respite from the band’s usual frenetic pace which they have become well known for. However, their disparate take on a ballad is far from laid back, with their distinctive vocal harmonies are accompanied by lusciously laid down keys and softly drilled Hi-Hats to create a truly avant-garde modern day lullaby.

After hours of painstakingly perfecting their intricate synth samples and fine tuning their mesmerizing live show, 2009 has seen the band step furtively from the shadows of their darkened studio come living quarters, shake off their vitamin D deficiencies and bask in the glorious sunshine of Universal praise.

Henry (Vox/ Guitars / Keys), Simon (Vox/ Guitars/ Keys) Tom (Vox/ Bass) and Fred (Drums) regularly switch instruments and lead vocal duties while performing intricate harmonies, which has seen them quickly become one of the most captivating live bands around. After growing up side-by-side in Leamington Spa and now living together in London’s East End, the foursome’s inherent cognitive ability to communicate on stage perpetually impresses the toughest of crowds.

Over the past year the band have recorded sessions for XFM’s John Kennedy, BBC Radio 1’s night time eclectic guru Rob Da Bank and ‘Introducing’supremo Huw Stevens who had them playing his stage at Latitude, as well as winning over the likes of Tom Robinson and Eddie Temple Morris. With a fan base like thisit’s no wonder Post War Years reputation as one of the countries most exciting bands continues to precede them at every turn.
