The Plight release 'Winds Of Osiris' on 26th October
THE PLIGHT caused a storm with their mini album BLACK SUMMER (4/5 Kerrang!, 8/10 Rock Sound),unleashing upon the world a CD full of potential, riffs and good time Rock and Roll. The marriage of heavy Punk and Classic Rock had rarely been heard used so effectively, immediately drawing universal praise and comparisons from the Rock press to heavyweights THE BRONX and MOTORHEAD. Expect one part screaming hardcore, one part classic rock, and one part gutter metal.

A year and half later, THE PLIGHT offer up their second offering with Visible Noise (Lostprophets, Bring me the Horizon) - debut album ‘WINDS OF OSIRIS’. The album reveals a much more mature and technical side to the band, who have become notorious for their intense live shows (with Cancer Bats, Converge and more) and tour antics.Reluctant to stagnate, the band have explored their melting pot of influences further, this time even moving into Prog, living in producer Jase Sanderson’s studio(who also recorded the band’s debut mini album) and breathing each chord, vocal and beat. The result is a groundbreaking piece of work full of riffs that are so huge that they should carry a health warning and songs that prove that heavy rock and roll can be life enriching and devastating at the same time. A perfect example of the growth in songwriting is acoustic instrumental track Lifted To The Sun, or From Hell, a subtle andinstantly memorable track that demonstrates the band’s refined sound, cementing their place alongside contemporaries GALLOWS, who the band toured with in 2006. The band recently played epic sounding sets to packed out tents at Reading and Leeds festivals and have been melting the ears of BBC Radio 1 listeners with standout album track Counting Teeth.

This is an album of Classic Rock that will make you want to break things, of Prog Rock with a venomous rhythm and bite, and of Punk Rock with a brain. Above all though, the album is the progression of heavy guitar driven music and a sonic journey into the minds of 5 charismatic and thoroughly talented British musicians.

THE PLIGHT also play Hellfire Festival 6th Nov in Birmingham, In This City 19th Nov in Manchester and the Thirty Days Of Night 5 Fest at LEEDS JOSEPH’S WELL 20th Dec.
