Welcome to News Nugget. This is a weekly news ticker feature that showcases worthy news that just wasn't sizeable enough to make their own individual news items.
They may be bite-size, but they sure are tasty! Anti-Pop Consortium - Enter the Ninja Tune "Pod" / "Fluorescent Black" Album out this monday and more... Ever wondered what Anti-Pop Consortium nearly called themselves, or more pertinently, why they reformed after six years, and what the inspiration was behind their masterpiece, Fluorescent Black? Well, number 2 in the new series of Ninja Tune Podcasts can tell you all that and more. Hosted by the effervescent Dexter and featuring an in depth interview with Beans, High Priest and M Sayid, it's worth a lot but comes for free. There's also exclusive snippets of songs from the album, as well as the music that inspired one of hip-hop's greatest collectives in the first place. Plus new music from The Heavy/Joker, Grasscut, Bonobo, Blockhead and Two Fingers. 'Av it.

The band are now an expanded leaner and meaner four piece with the addition of bassist Marco Gonzalez and drummer Marco Rapisarda. The Crocodiles are now, without a doubt, a louder, more twisted and seething raw rock n roll proposition.
Highlighted as one of the main bands in the increasingly prominent Californian lo-fi ‘scene’ by Uncut and Rolling Stone magazines, The Crocodiles’ founding members -Charles Rowell and Brandon Welchez – draw from significant influences from the UK post-punk scene of the ‘80’s ala Jesus and Mary Chain and Suicide, to name but two. Combined with feelings of alienation and despair, the band crafted their crushingly spaced-out rock n roll noise with their debut album ‘Summer of Hate’ (Fat Possum) earlier this year. CONFIRMED DATES FOR OCTOBER ARE:
19-Oct Glasgow, Stereo
20-Oct Sheffield, Plug
21-Oct Manchester, Night & Day Cafe
22-Oct Brighton, Audio
23-Oct London, Victoria Atlas Sound set to release 'Logos' and announce sole UK date Following the release of Deerhunter’s Microcastle last year, the Atlanta, Georgia group’s lynchpin Bradford Cox returns to his solo guise, Atlas Sound, for another round of ethereal pop genius with Logos. Released October 19th, this album almost nearly didn’t make it as a leak of an early draft nearly killed it. Fortunately for us, Bradford's retreat was temporary and Logos was finished. It's the sound of Atlas Sound changing up; away from such piercing introspection and towards a grand pop plateau yet retaining the bedroom charms of the project. He also collaborates on Logos with Noah Lennox (Panda Bear / Animal Collective) and Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab / Monade) and the final results make for another great record out of one of the fastest rising stars on the US indie scene. Atlas Sound European tour dates just announced (here) and the sole UK date is... 15th November : Cargo, London
Camera Obscura announce UK tour It's been one hell of a year for Glasgow's Camera Obscura. Since releasing their debut album for 4AD, My Maudlin Career, earlier this year, they have been flat out since. Radio sessions three times on Radio 2, making their US TV premiere on Craig Ferguson and tours of the UK and North America then backed with festivals every weekend. The band are back with a new single, 'The Sweetest Thing' b/w 'Tougher Than The Rest' (Bruce Springsteen cover), on November 2nd and tours of both Europe and the US. They reach the UK on... 22nd Oct - Waterfront, Norwich
23rd Oct - Komedia, Brighton
24th Oct - Phoenix, Brighton
25th Oct - Thekla, Bristol
26th Oct - Library, Morecambe
27th Oct - Cockpit, Leeds
29th Oct - Barrowlands, Glasgow
3rd Nov - Shepherd's Bush Empire, London U2's "Crazy" Remix Tour Video U2 has posted a new video on their Facebook page of fans "going kerrrrr-razy" during their recent tour stop in New York City. Always looking to keep things new and interesting (apparantly - nobody told me), U2 performed a "remix" version of their latest single "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight" that had concert-goers dancing in the aisles. Experience the 'fun' here, and for other exclusive video clips from the 360° Tour visit U2.com. MAGIK MARKERS CONFIRM UK DATES FOR LATE OCTOBER The Magik Markers - Elisa Ambrogio and Pete Nolan – who released ‘BALF QUARRY’ via Drag City earlier this year, have confirmed UK dates for late October.
If psychosis is your thing, the band’s most recent album, BALF QUARRY is like a jukebox just for you. The sound is singularly creepy, as if made for some lost horror film. The album’s dark beauty is further twisted with the assistance of producer Scott Colburn and assistant axe-wielder Ben Chasny.

25-Oct Manchester Islington Mill
26-Oct Brighton Engine rooms
27-Oct London The Grosvenor UFFIE pops the glock! She is the spearhead of electro 2.0, and after years of spreading chaos with the club kids of the modern world, the princess of freestyle is ready to take the next step: put out her long-awaited 1st album.
This is a family affair, co-produced with some of the greatest electro geniuses of our times (Feadz, Mr Oizo, Sebastian, Mirwais). Her album “Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans” will be released early 2010 and should electrify the world.
Additional tip: there is an electrochocking duo with Pharrell Williams, no less.
In the meantime, Uffie is sending you this exclusive video as a postcard for her classic song “POP THE GLOCK”. Billionaire Boys Club Blog » UFFIE “POP THE GLOCK” Ali Love brand new single 'Diminishing Returns' Released on digital download/ 12” vinyl through Back Yard on November 16 You may well have heard the name Ali Love before, either as the singer on the Chemical Brothers’ smash “Do It Again”, or on his own earlier solo singles. But even if somehow you haven’t come across him already, one thing is certain: from here on in, there’ll be no escaping Ali Love.
November heralds the first glorious statement from his triumphant debut album, the limited release single ‘Diminishing Returns’, a brilliant, instant Italo-disco inspired classic. Remixes are just around the corner courtesy of Azari & III and Elli Escobar, to be followed by the brand new sparkling full-length album. www.myspace.com/mralilove
