Sierra Alpha are a five-piece pop/rock band from South Wales who are currently signed to independent label Major-G Records. Their debut five-track EP was released in June and received strong regional radio and press support.
The lead track ‘Superhero’ was featured as Amazon US ‘Single Of The Day’ and has been licensed for Version 3 of Tapulous’ hugely successful ‘Tap Tap Revenge’ app for iPhone and iPod Touch due for release later this year.
‘World Machine’ has also been featured on two Myspace.com video segments promoting Leonardo DiCaprio’s film, ‘Body of Lies’.
With over a quarter of a million views on MySpace and over 3000 Facebook fans, the band hasbuilt a very strong andloyal fan base since forming eighteen months ago, particularly in South Wales with their live shows selling out on a regular basis.
Furthermore, the physical copy of their EP has completely sold out its limited edition 1,200 copies.
Regular visits to the studio have enabled the band to record a catalogue of hugely commercial,radio friendly tunes.
Although, frontman Martin Goddard, who is described by the rest of the band as a “Songwriting Machine”, confidently proclaims that the best is yet to come and that all the recordings so far are merely “seeds for nurturing”.
Their success to date has been achieved on a very limited budget through the band’s hard work and determination to succeed.
The band have recently been featured in Plugged In Magazine and Carmarthenshire Life, and are featured in the current edition of Noise Addiction. They are also to be featured in the next issue of IN Magazine.
