Bibio Announces New Tracks + Remixes Album ‘The Apple & The Tooth’ out 9th November

Bibio Announces New Tracks + Remixes Album ‘The Apple & The Tooth’ out 9th November
Following the acclaimed success of his debut album on Warp ‘Ambivalence Avenue’, Bibio returns with an album of new work and remixes which, as well as being a fulsome body of work, compliments the original long player. ‘The Apple and the Tooth’ is released 9th November on Warp and shows Bibio once again playing to his strengths by showcasing a whole variety of songs, from lush introspective music collages to beats that could be like some long forgotten dusted-off disco treasure. It would be hard to believe this was the work of oneproducer if it were not for the inimitable vintage imprint on his music.

As well as including 4 tracks of original new material, Bibio drafts in a whole host of pals and admirers to create this diverse collection of work. In this selection there are 8 remixes and no track is covered twice. Clark’s remix doesn’t fail to delight with his gleefully menacing rework of ‘S’vive’. Alongside it is a reinterpretation of ‘Sugarette’ by pal Rob Lee, usually affiliated with Friendly Fires, who as electronic alter-ego Wax Stag puts a warm over coat of computer love on this track. Eskmo, a name that has recently been circulating on the dub step scene with his heavy west-coast beats, places in ‘Dwrcan’ a new level of gravitas and the oft acclaimed electronic producer Lone opens a psychedelic window into ‘All the Flowers’, a track which in its lo-fi simplicity takes from the 60’s folk aesthetic. Bibio himself steps up to the remix desk by presenting a fairy tale waltz version of ‘Palm of Your Wave’.

As well as on CD and digital, ‘The Apple and the Tooth’ also comes in a super luxe, high end strictly limited 12” in a gold foil embellished sleeve, limited to 1000 worldwide & 150 in the UK.

Tagged as one of ‘09’s key new artists, Bibio has developed a wealth of supporters at media with supporters at radio ranging across Radio 1 - Zane Lowe, Rob da Bank, Gilles Peterson, Huw Stephens, Radio 2’s Stuart Maconie, 6music - ‘Album of the Day’ + support from Nemone, Lauren Laverne, Gideon Coe, Tom Robinson, XFM, Kiss FM & much more!

At press the praise was equally as forthcoming:

Bibio will be doing a whole host of DJ dates in Europe in October. Please see his Myspace for more details
