Following on from the Detroit Grand Pubahs’ Mysterious Mr. O’s EPM and Mr. Booty Breaks himself, DJ Nasty we keep the motor city vibe going as DJ 3000 takes to the mix. Featuring the likes of Moodymann, Aril Brikha, Gene Farris, Robert Hood, Quince, Francisco, Paul Mac, Shawn Snell, Raiders of the Lost ARP and 3000 himself we take a welcome night drive through Babylon with the man from Motech.

With his third studio album ‘Galactic Caravan’ dropping this month on Motech via Japan’s Underground Gallery, Franki Juncaj (aka DJ 3000) expands upon his musical palette whilst still recalling his roots. Born and raised in the Detroit enclave of Hamtramck, DJ 3000 was inundated with both the sights and sounds of his neighborhood, a highly ethnic area of Detroit, as well as with the influence of the music of his parent's native Albania. This diverse collection of influences has molded the current make-up of both DJ 3000 and the vision and direction of the sound that he is producing. ‘Galactic Caravan’ expands his sound even further with a depth of electronic styles that collage to make his most cohesive work to date.

With further new releases lined up in the shape of a remix of the Detroit Grand Pubahs on Detelefunk, a re-working of Tatsuya Takenaka for Logos Recordings and new releases on Motech from Vino, DJ 3000 is certainly keeping himself busy. So why not crank up the stereo and rejoice as the Motech man jumps in the mix.
