Melbourne reared, now London based, The Temper Trap are proud to announce some very special headline shows in their hometown and Sydney to kick off a huge 2010 for the band.
The band’s dynamic live show has thrilled audiences across the globe throughout the year, including performances at major international festivals Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds and Summer Sonic, and the lads are ecstatic to be now bringing their acclaimed show to local fans. The forthcoming summer will also see the band hitting stages across the nation at the Falls, Southbound, Sunset Sounds & Big Day Out festivals.
Meanwhile their incredible year continues to go from strength to strength with the last few weeks bringing four ARIA nominations, including Album of the Year for Conditions and Single of the Year for Sweet Disposition, a Top 10 UK single and sold out shows across the US & UK. A scheduled headline show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire next April recently sold out in days with a 2nd show already on sale.
Sweet Disposition is also shaping up to become one of the biggest rock singles in the UK this year after crashing into the UK Top 10 singles chart at #6 and surpassing Gold sales (150,000 to date), while the UK Top 30 & ARIA Top 10 album Conditions has been certified Silver (60,000 sales) in England.
The band is currently in the US for a series of headline dates and promo to launch the album’s North American release. Their momentum in the US continues to gather pace with the band chosen as MTV’s Discover & Download priority artist for the coming months alongside La Roux, adorning the cover of the prestigious CMJ official magazine and performing on Jimmy Kimmel live.
The remainder of the year includes another European headline tour, UK and Irish tours with Florence & the Machine, Christmas headline show at London’s Koko and a long overdue trip home to end the year.
