Brooding and with a Krautrock klang, ‘Remains’, will be available on limited 7” (with CD of tracks enclosed) and download. It features the B-sides ‘Control,Designs & Innovations’, a cover of the Wedding Present’s ‘Dalliance’ plus the download will also feature two remixes from Losers (Eddy Temple-Morris and Tom Bellamy of The Cooper Temple Clause).
Essentially the creation of Justin Lockey (ex Yourcodenameis:Milo) and Craig Pilbin, White Belt Yellow Tag formed just over a year ago having met in Newcastle. Lockey had built up a reputation as one of the UK’s leading new band producers having worked with White Lies, Late Of The Pier and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly and the pair met when Pilbin was looking for someone to work with on a number songs he had written.
‘Remains’ is taken from the band’s recently recorded debut album ‘Methods’, an amazingly far-reaching and beguiling record. The pair’s song-writing nouse and Lockey’s “sonic alchemy” have combined to create something unique where epic wide-screen atmospherics work in harmony with moments of white-noise and fragile beauty.
Having released the fantastic ‘Remains EP’on Distiller Records (selected as Artrocker.tv’s single of the week last week), White Belt Yellow Tag have today been confirmed to support The Airbourne Toxic Event, meaning their November live plans now look like this:
