Nervous Nitelife w/ Tom Stephan, Larry Tee, Terry Vietheer & Rowetta LIVE

Nervous Nitelife w/ Tom Stephan, Larry Tee, Terry Vietheer & Rowetta LIVE

Fri 4th Dec @ East Village

American dance label Nervous Records is one of the longest standing independent record labels in the US. And, for the first time since 1992 they’re flying over the pond to host their very own club night at Shoreditch’s East Village on Friday 4th December with label artist Tom Stephan and guests Larry Tee, Terry Vietheer and a live PA from Rowetta. Set up in 1991, Nervous was the first American label to sign and release tracks by dance luminaries such as Armand Van Helden, Paul Van Dyk and Nuyorican Soul. Their first three releases were produced by Roger Sanchez, Kenny Dope, and Todd Terry respectively - representing the three best house producers at the time. Coverage has included features in magazines such as DJ Magazine (cover story), Mixmag, and I-D, who hailed the label as the “Sound of New York nitelife.” Other artists Nervous has worked with and released include: Frankie Knuckles, Masters At Work, Kim English, David Morales, Basement Boys, Maurice Joshua and MK and more.

Their releases have been sampled by the likes of Mariah Carey, New Edition, Coolio, Flip Squad, Basement Jaxx and George Michael to name a few… This year has seen compilation releases by Danny Krivit and Frankie Knuckles with forthcoming releases scheduled for Mind Control, Tom Stephan, Chris Lake, Anane (produced by Louie Vega), David Tort, King Britt, Chus & Ceballos and Behrouz. Headlining their first UK club night is New York native but London resident Tom Stephan (aka Superchumbo) who’s album ‘Nervous Nightlife’ will be released early next year. Tom will be playing his inimitable brand of twisted house which brought packed crowds to his now defunct London club nights ‘Roach’ at Turnmills and ‘Tank’ at Crash. Joining him will be Rowetta (ex Happy Monday’s) who’ll be performing ‘Lights Out’ - a single taken off Tom’s forthcoming album. Larry Tee is a DJ, record label boss and club promoter who has been a fixture on the New York club scene since the 1980s, but is most famed for ‘inventing’ electroclash. He was also responsible for introducing the world to Peaches, Fischerspooner and the Scissor Sisters. Herecently released his album ‘Club Badd’ and will be spinning big room electro rock. His very buzzy track Let’s Make Nasty’ (Afrojack Mix) featuring Roxy Cottontail is featured on Tom’s upcoming album release as well.

Finally, Australian Terry Vietheer’s in an international DJ who has been living in London since last year, with residencies at the capitals Pacha and Heaven, fans of his will be use to his style of house music that gets everyone waving their hands in the air.
