& Release 12 EP!
The production duo of DJ /rupture (aka Jace Clayton) and Matt Shadetek are pleased to announce the release of this absolutely breathtaking new video, directed and animated by Sara Taigher with illustrations by Maria Chiara Di Giorgio, set to the music off their just-released record, Solar Life Raft (out last Tuesday on The Agriculture). The video is a medley featuring DJ /rupture + Matt Shadetek’s “Underwater High Rise,” Nico Muhly’s “Mothertongue Pt. 1,” and Mizz Beats’ “Blue Night.”
Also, the duo has a 12” EP, entitled “Shallows”, slated for released on November 24th on the Agriculture. Spotlighting some of their strongest dub-wise productions to-date, The “Shallows” EP is a storm surge from New York's Tropical movement, featuring two preview tracks from their new mix, Solar Life Raft, and a vinyl exclusive. Shadetek's "Strength in Numbers" kicks things off right with its triumphant reggae horns and a heavy sine-wave bass. This tune has become an anthem at their Dutty Artz parties and Rupture has been wrecking dancefloors with it across the globe. Title track "Shallows" brings a busy electronic R&B atmosphere with weird bleeps arranged with an ear for pop. Side B finishes up the E.P with "Underwater High Rise featuring DJ Kiva", a deep-sea slow-burner for fans of Shackleton and Pinch. Rupture and Shadetek's effortlessly original productions showcase the finest in American dubstep. Tunes have DJ-friendly intros and are cut hot and heavy at 45 RPM. This is the first of a 12" series from the Agriculture, committed to pushing cosmopolitan bass sounds from Brooklyn rooftops to the world.
