Welcome to NICE NICE. Already well-known in their hometown of Portland, Oregon as one of the hottest underground bands on the circuit, they've now signing to Warp Records, and the time has come to step it up a gear. Their their first offering 'One Hit', out 23rd of November. By way of introduction the duo - Jason Buehler and Mark Shirazi - will also be coming over to do their first ever European tour with a variety of supports, playing alongside the likes of Wavves,BLK JKS, Battles, Flying Lotus and more, including at the Warp20 and birthday events in London & Berlin this December.
Having spent years building their reputation as one of the Pacific Northwest's most striking live acts, NICE NICE back this up with the senses-shredding flash of psychedelic punk "One Hit". Paired with the krautrock-in-dub riddim "Ark Drum" on the b-side, the 7" gives an inkling of the sonic scope of the long-player as well as their imminent UK & Europe live debut.
"We really wanted to capture/reflect what we do live. We focused on trying to convey elements that we think have generally characterized our live show: high energy explosiveness, bright colorful textures, lots of rhythm, large dynamic movement, willingness to explore new directions." says NICE NICE on the band's Warp debut Extra Wow.
"A big part of what makes our live show engaging is the "freakshow" factor of watching us build the loops live and interact on top, hopefully the intensity of the recorded music compensates for that. We hope people will hear the record and think "that was a trip, I want to experience that live" - and we hope that it will blow a few minds."
