New Vigilante Tour Dates With All American Rejects
Summer saw the full-length debut by brothers Ari Ingber and Joshua Ingber, better known as New York rock outfit The Upwelling. With the release of An American Stranger (Edmond Records/Doghouse Records), The Upwelling is positioned to become America’s favorite new band.
Before record labels began taking notice of The Upwelling's ear-catching powerhouse sound, the brothers Ingber were turning heads with their 2005 self-released and self-promoted EP. The collection of songs earned itself a place on Virgin Megastore's "Virgin Recommends" series (a first for an unsigned band and for an EP) and secured the honor of Spin.com's "Underground Band of the Year.”
Soon fellow musicians were taking notice. Without an agent the band secured tours with the All-American Rejects in the U.S., U.K., and Europe, as well as a slot as the sole support on Third Eye Blind's 10-year anniversary tour. The Upwelling also found themselves sharing stages with the likes of Metric, Ben Kweller, the Wrens, The Stills, We Are Scientists and VHS or Beta. Their fledgling relationships in the music community led them to their signing with the All-American Rejects' label Edmond Records, a subsidiary of indie stalwart Doghouse Records. Not content to merely take the band on tour or pull strings within the music industry, friends and fans Jason Hill (Louis XIV), Stephan Jenkins (Third Eye Blind) and Tyson Ritter (The All-American Rejects) joined in the creative process, each with multiple production credits on the record.
The Upwelling have recently embarked on their second "Vigilante Tour" following the current All American Rejects tour. The Ingber brothers planned the first impromptu tour with All American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter while in NYC for Fashion Week. The band will be once again setting up their own stage and gear to play to fans in the parking lot before the scheduled gig begins. So if you are already headed out to this tour you are in for a great free pre-show! Full tour dates are below and be sure to follow The Upwelling on Twitter to see how each parking lot show goes, provided they don't get arrested. The Ingber brother were recently contacted by Richard Dashut, the amazing producer of Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" and "Rumors" to do a track together.
