'Odds & Evens' Out Now through Grandpa Stan
The band are set to play a special one-off show at London's Hoxton Bar & Grill December 8th. 'Odds & Evens' is the gorgeous new single from London based psych pop trio The High Wire. This instantly captivating track is euphorically upbeat and a perfect antidote to the autumnal blues, instantly transporting the listener to sunnier climes and happier times. 'Odds & Evens' is taken from The High Wire's brilliant forthcoming album 'The Sleep Tape', due for release in early 2010 and produced by the band with additional production and mixing by Rik Simpson, who has previously worked with the likes of Blur, Portishead, Coldplay and PJ Harvey.
The High Wire's music is an intoxicating blend of acoustic based melodies infused within a mix of heavy distortion, driving guitars and deliriously chanted vocal harmonies. Buried within the band's heavenly pop dreamscapes are faint echoes of the sounds of early nineties shoegaze and alt-rock, blowing a fresh yet wistful breath into a sound pioneered by the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Band Of Horses and Mercury Rev.
As their unique brand of dreamy luscious pop continues to capture and enslave our imaginations, 2010 will undoubtedly be the year that The High Wire get the recognition they wholly deserve.
The High Wire are Tim Crompton (lead vocals, guitar), Stuart Peck (guitar, vocals) and Alexia Hagen (keys, vocals).
