Nitetime Rainbows is an album of A Sunny Day in Glasgow’s ( Ben Daniels, Josh Meakim, Annie Fredrickson, Jen Goma, Ryan Newmyer and Adam Herndon) brightest sounds songs to date. Featuring 7 tracks including a new mix of ‘Nitetime Rainbows’ (originally released on the band’s 2009 album, Ashes Grammar’) as well as three remixes of the song by THE BUDDY SYSTEM, BENOIT PIOULARD & EZEKIEL HONIG.
"Nitetime rainbows" always struck the band as a song that could be its own album. It was one of the most fun songs to record for Ashes Grammar, and it has the most elaborate and strange instruments on it -- from vibes and lap steel, to bulbul tarang. Its partner song, ‘Daytime Rainbows’, was originally intended to appear on Ashes Grammar though the band were unable to complete it without the much needed time to develop the song to it’s full potential. Other new tracks, ‘So Bloody, So Tight’ is one of the band's favourite songs they've recorded to date and it's easy to hear why - the song is full of hope in a manner the band has only hinted at previously. ‘Piano lessons’ was the result of Ben, who cannot play the piano, sitting at the baby grand for many, many hours one night. By the end of the night he was deliriously pounding the keys, mashing as many as he could with his palms flat.
These are the sounds of a band falling in love, a band having fun.
