DEBUT ALBUM YEAH, SO OUT ON MOSHI MOSHI RECORDS MARCH 30TH
Moshi Moshi Records are excited to announce Slow Club's upcoming tour dates and appearance at SXSW 2010. It all leads into the March 30th release of their debut album Yeah, So, the first record to be released in North America by the band as well as their label Moshi Moshi.
The UK duo's charming take on folk-pop is starting to make an impression in the United States. The "Sheffield boy-girl duo nail precious, vulnerable feelings over the course of their sweet (but not twee or saccharine) indie pop debut," wrote Pitchfork in an early review of the record that ran this week. "Everything, from their cheery optimism to their crestfallen lovesickness is life-sized and lived-in." Meanwhile Prefix Magazine described the upcoming release as a "smart step off the boat for the record label." It builds upon the waves Slow Club have already made in the UK, where the BBC praised the band for their music's "range of uncomplicated ideas executed brilliantly and brazenly by a band of two," and the NME labeled any would be detractors "idiots" in a glowing 8 out of 10 star review.
