On 15th March 2010, influential cult singer Chris T-T releases his stunning seventh studio album ‘Love Is Not Rescue’ through indie label Xtra Mile Re
In a change of direction from 2008’s rockier, heavier ‘Capital’ (the final part to his acclaimed London Trilogy), with ‘Love Is Not Rescue’, Chris focuses more on personal themes of career choices, love and the complexities of relationships rather than overt political discord. Stripping back his sound and laying bare private lyrics over delicate melodies, “British pop’s street-poet laureate and unsung genius” (The Sunday Times) has produced a beautifully introspective and pensive album.
The superb album opener ‘Nintendo’ will precede the release on 8th March as a download only single backed by the wonderfully low-fi b-sides of ‘Abraham Martin & John’ – a cover version of a soul classic by Dick Holler (made famous by Dion and Marvin Gaye); ‘On The Turner Grand #2’ a six minute piano improvisation and a demo version of ‘Nintendo’.
Playing piano, electric and acoustic guitar (although not all at the same time) Chris will embark on UK tour of intimate gigs to accompany the release.
