Gearhead Records announced today they would host the only authorized After Party as the featured music event of the 8th Annual Lady Luck Tattoo Convention. The convention runs March 12-March 14, and the Gearhead party will be Saturday, March 13th at Tonic Lounge, 231 West 2nd St.
Reno, NV 89501 (http://www.myspace.com/tonicrocks). Doors open at 9:00 pm and the first band begins at 10:00 pm. The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Capacity is limited so advance purchase is encouraged. Tickets can be purchased online at Gearhead Records Lady Luck After Party or during the convention at the Sacramento Tattoo booth. This event is open to the public. You must be 21+ and ID will be checked at the door.
Sponsors of this year's Gearhead Records After Party include Sacramento Tattoo, Sailor Jerry Rum and Kingpin Tattoo Supply. All party attendees will get a free Sailor Jerry Rum drink with the purchase of a ticket and Sailor Jerry drink specials will be featured all night. All guests will also receive a free full color party poster drawn and painted by Sacramento Tattoo artists "Cuz'n" Bill Lorenz and Big Mac. The show will feature 5 bands; Reno based rockabilly miscreants The Cowbelleros, thrash-style hardcore by Vomit (featuring "Cuz'n" Bill Lorenz and Dave O'Connor from Sacramento Tattoo), Thee Merry Widows, an all girl psychobilly band featuring burlesque dancer Miss Eva from The White Barons on vocals, Sacramento's long-running alt-rockers The Tattooed Love Dogs, and the popular Reno based outlaw country-fried scumbags Hellbound Glory.
Gearhead Records owner Michelle Haunold spoke enthusiastically about the party. "Last year's shindig was a blast. We sold out, and had lines out the door of people waiting to come in," explains Haunold. "Well-known tattoo artists were rubbing elbows with the crowd, people were dancing and just having a great time. Everyone was so enthusiastic and while it got a bit rowdy, people were really respectful of each other and everyone just had a lot of fun."
Gearhead Records and Sacramento Tattoo (2722 X St., Sacramento CA 95818) have an ongoing relationship, having worked together on numerous local events, but the addition of Sailor Jerry Rum this year was a big plus. "I've worked on parties in the past with the Sailor Jerry folks, and with it being the rum of choice for tattoo artists and rockers alike, it will just make this party that much more fun," says Haunold. Expect to see the club decorated with famous Sailor Jerry tattoo flash, posters and stickers.

It features 3 days of world-renowned tattoo artists, tattoo and flash contests, informative talks, plus many vendors, among them the Woodland, CA based record label. Last year the convention was selected as one of the top ten best conventions worldwide by Rank My Tattoos website (Rank My Tattoos Magazine | Digital Tattoo Magazine)
