STALKERS play a special show for Kid Congo's birthday extravaganza on Saturday March 27th at Secret Project Robot (210 Kent Avenue at Metropolitan in Williamsburg), alongside Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds, K-Holes, and Tommy Volume (ex-Star Spangles), who will making his solo debut. Jonathan Toubin, visionary DJ and promoter behind the infamous Soul Clap & Dance Off parties and New York Night Train, will be DJing throughout the evening, as well as Stalkers own Josh Styles, whose own Smashed-Blocked party has been a New York mainstay for almost a decade.
Set times as follows:
Midnight: Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds
11pm: Stalkers
10pm: K-Hole
9pm: Tommy Volume
Stalkers release their brand new single, ‘Lady Sonia’ on March 30th on Colonel Records. and the band are returning from Portland having finished their album (to be released this summer) with Ross Skomsvold(Nice Boys) at the helm. The band originally generated a whole lot of attention from the UK after releasing their debut album, ‘Yesterday Is No Tomorrow’, (available on import only in the US) in 2008 through One little Indian. After receiving positive reviews from the British press, the band toured the UK extensively, as well as appearing at major festivals, such as Reading and Leeds. Turning their attention to their homeland, the band spent five weeks on the road last year, playing to packed houses all over the States (including memorable performances at SXSW). The five members; Andy (vocals), Lefty (rhythm guitar), Danny (bass), Raze (lead guitar) and Josh (drums) create a live energy that is rarely seen these days. Think Sex Pistols meets The Who, with Kiss and The Damned thrown in for good measure, they are not to be missed!
