Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Zach Hurd opens up his heart and soul on his highly anticipated debut album ‘Changing Landscapes’ available July 20. This soulful and compelling album intertwines reflective lyrics, strong melodies and charming vocals.
In May 2008, Zach worked closely with producer/engineer James Dellatacoma (Herbie Hancock, Matisyahu) and producer Ralph Gould on the release of his debut EP, The Small Places EP. His new album, ‘Changing Landscapes’, recorded at Thump Studios in Brooklyn, New York, shows Zach exploring new areas of his sound. The album is a polished and brilliantly inventive debut release from this talented artist whose sound has been compared to artists such as Andrew Bird, Beck and James Taylor.
In other exciting news, Zach commissioned the art team, Sonnenzimmer, for the album art. This talented duo based out of Chicago has done work for The Swell Season, Andrew Bird, and Tokyo Police Club among many others.
Zach grew up in Maine. Finally ready to pursue his passion for music, Zach made the move to Brooklyn in 2007 and immediately began playing open mics every night of the week. Gradually, the humble songwriter started to gain some confidence in his performing and writing abilities and with this a steady fanbase followed. Since then he has established himself as an artist-to-watch in NYC, appearing in clubs like The Living Room, Canal Room, The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall and more.
