With Reading, Leeds and Bestival still to go, festival-goers share their top festival priorities
Festival-goers would rather run out of loo roll than mobile phone battery according to research released today by Energenie, the manufacturer of Energy saving and charging accessories.
A quarter of festival goers (24%) hated running out of phone battery the most, compared to 17% who hate being caught short without loo roll. As might be expected, money topped the list of ‘worst things to run out of’ (37%). The survey asked 1,000 festival goers their likes and dislikes.
In addition, almost half of people (47%) have had their phone run out of juice during a festival. Being without a mobile is so unthinkable that a fifth of people (22%) were prepared to queue for more than an hour to use charging stations. A third of people (34%) have queued for more than half an hour.
“Mid-festival season it’s interesting to see that going back to basics doesn’t mean ditching your phone,” said Alan J. Tadd, Managing Director, Energenie. “While many sites offer charging facilities, they come at a price and with a long queue, so it’s worth taking your own emergency charger as a back-up to stay in touch.”
Energenie recently launched a range of products for campers. The Energenie for the Traveller range includes dynamo torches and mobile phone chargers.
The Hand Charger for Mobile Phones includes a torch and FM radio. Rotate the handle for 2 minutes to charge your mobile phone for a 1-4 min conversation, or rotate for 1 minute to power up the torch for 30 minutes. More information is available at:
