WHO: Jacob Michael (guitar/vocals), Gavin McDevitt (guitar/vocals), Bradford Alderman (synths), Rory Given (bass), Philip Boucher (drums), and Seth Hachen (flute), make up this unique six-piece synth-pop/indie-rock band GENTLEMEN HALL. They will be showcasing material from their highly anticipated six-song EP When We All Disappear.

WHAT: Gentlemen Hall has come a long way since they first formed in Boston in 2008. They created enough of a buzz in their hometown to earn anMTV Music Award for "Best Breakout Boston Artist" in 2009. Ben & Jerry's even named an ice cream flavor after them (what other band can say that?!); the three Beantown locations have been selling "The Gentlemen Hall," a signature lemon-flavored smoothie, ever since! In 2011, Gentlemen Hall became the first independent band to both win a Billboard Music Award and perform during the nationally televised (ABC-TV) primetime broadcast! After roughly two years of local acclaim, the guys of Gentlemen Hall had officially catapulted themselves into the international market, joining the ranks of Phoenix, MGMT, and other melody-driven bands that make dance music with a twist. The group, however, still manages to stand out amongst these other like-minded bands. The members come from all different backgrounds (classical, jazz, funk, and blues-rock, to name a few), so Gentlemen Hall is able to compile these diverse perspectives into one sound that is entirely its own. Who else would think of combining flute solos with retro keyboard riffs? Better still, who else could make it work this well?

The guys recently released a six-song EP called The EP features top A-list producers and mixers, including Michael Seifert (Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Faith No More's Chuck Mosley), Dan Shea (Santana, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Antebellum) and Grammy winner Tony Maserati (Jason Mraz, Fergie, John Legend, and Lady Gaga). The result is a versatile, fast-paced EP that provides a snapshot of what Gentlemen Hall does best: build towering pop songs onto funky foundations, using synthesizers and epic choruses as glue. When We All Disappear.
  • Bradford: "We don't do cookie-cutter pop music, but we are a pop band. We do electro-pop with substance."
  • Rory: "It's a blend of '80s pop and '90s rock, and it leans a little more heavily toward the '80s. It's definitely got a fun, modern, electronic vibe, too."
  • Jacob: "What it comes down to is this...we like to make people move and we like to feel that groove...so that's what we do."
