Lovers of great British rock music that chance upon the midland four-piece Max Raptor’s website, Facebook or Youtube channel will be bemused by the frequent name checks by the band’s growing fanbase for an enigmatic character called Barney Hall.

Barney Hall is a teenager from Wandsworth, who legend has it, wrote into Kerrang! magazine for the Lost In Stereo (What’s Your New Favourite Album?) feature back in the Spring, waxing lyrical about up-and-coming Max Raptor’s now acclaimed debut mini-album Portraits.
Vastly reactive, it seems Max Raptor’s fan base championed this noble act by, simply uttering Barney’s name of the internet the world over.

In an interview recently, Max Raptor frontman Wil Ray, claimed cynically, that if the concept got a thousand likes on Facebook, then the band would perform live in the young super-fan Hall’s London family home. The campaign, led by an anonymous Raptor fan, swiftly reached the necessary volume, with Rock Sound and Kerrang! jubilantly plugging the idea of their own accord, much to Max Raptor’s humble dismay and delight – let alone Barney himself!

Fresh from this month’s Kerrang! Breakthru Tour 2011, Max Raptor will be streaming an intimate gig on 18th December 2011 at 4.30pm live from Barney Hall’s bedroom, exclusively for those who ‘Like’ the Max Raptor Facebook page.
