Frightened Rabbit, have announced details on a tour that they are to embark on come April. Consisting of a mix between acoustic sets and full band performances, the Indie quintet are to be playing in intimate venues across their native country, Scotland. A typical Frightened Rabbit acoustic show is not your run-of-the-mill acoustic nights, as you will more than likely be endured to a burst of impromptu stories from Scott! The tour begins with the band’s acoustic show at Gourock’s Café Continental on April 11th. Tour stops following are in Perth, Forres, Ullapool and Isle of Mull. The full band set-up commences not long after at Aviemore’s Old Bridge Inn on April 18th. The tour will continue through Stornoway, Portee, Strathpeffer, before finishing up in Dunoon on April 22nd.
Since releasing their debut album, Sing the Greys in 2006, the band has surely grown, building a dedicated fan-base, and selling out shows both nationwide and statewide. Also, Frightened Rabbit will shortly begin working on their fourth studio album.
The band’s journey started back in 2003, when band member Scott began playing solo shows under their current acclaimed name. Playing and recording all of the instruments himself, he was the founder of their trademark sound, which is a mix of pop brilliance and emotional turmoil. The band’s second album, Midnight Organ Fight was released back in April of 2008, and revealed Scott’s stunning vocal delivery, as well as his knack for writing emotional and passionate lyrics. Their last album, The Winter of Mixed Drinks was released back in 2010 to huge acclaim and where the band gained a new height of popularity. This led to big U.S. and UK/Ireland tours, as well as the recruitment of their fifth band member, Gordon Skene.
Having never played in many of the venues on their upcoming tour, this will for sure be a special occasion for both the band and their fans.
