In support of the upcoming release of their new "Shrine Flu" cassette out March 9th on Words+Dreams, saxophone-and-reverb avant juggernaut DIAMOND TERRIFIER (ZS' Sam Hillmer), have announced its upcoming PRACTICE! events taking place at New York's Zebulon venue prior to and following the upcoming record show with Oneohtrix Point Never at 285 Kent Ave. Guests for this month's PRACTICE! events include Nine 11 Thesaurus, Shooting Spires, Novellers, C Spencer Yeh and more.
Sparse then bombastic, jittery then confident, declarative then questioning, SHRINE FLU is a temporal document as responsive as it is inquisitive. SHRINE FLU was recorded on December 11th, 2011 in Hillmer's basement studio. "SHRINE FLU is the part of the Venn diagram representing our collective psyche where spiritual paranoia & materialism overlap with political and economic paranoia & materialism. It leads to triumphant uncertainty and anthemic dirges. The pieces on the cassette were developed while playing live (with obsessive frequency) in NYC during the fall of 2011. The sentiment of the tape and its presentation is that the psychic darkness people seek to dodge by engaging in spiritual practice, is itself the practice they seek. Give it a shot! IT'S ALREADY AFTER THE END OF THE WORLD!!"

About Diamond Terrifier:
DIAMOND TERRIFIER is Sam Hillmer of ZS. Diamond Terrifier is Sam’s saxophone and electronics solo incarnation. Named after the English translation of the Indo-Tibetan god-name Vajrabairahva, Diamond Terrifier is concerned with the potential positive qualities of destruction as mediated by noise/drone sheets of sound music. Diamond Terrifier’s debut release ‘Himalayan Appalachia’ appeared this past September and is soon to be followed by the follow up tape ‘Shrine Flu’ on Words+Dreams. This coming fall Diamond Terrifier’s first full length effort will be inaugurated on Brooklyn avant killers Northern Spy label. ‘KILL THE SELF THAT WANTS TO KILL YOUR SELF’ is due out September 2012 and will be produced by the formidable rocker Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. In the mean season, Diamond Terrifier will be playing hella shows in and around New York, across North America, and beyond...
In addition to exterminating death, Sam works as a Musician, Facilitator, and Organizer in and around New York. Sam is the founder of the band ZS, the youth Hip Hop presenting organization Representing NYC, and the conceptual art installation duo Trouble (The You Are Here Festival). Sam has performed with John Dwyer of the Oh Sees, Arrington Dionyso of Old Time Relijun, Dave Longstreth of the Dirty Projectors, Tony Conrad, Phil Niblock, Louis Andriesen, Roscoe Mitchel, Joe Maneri, and Christian Wolf among Others. As Diamond Terrifier, Sam has shared the stage with artists as disparate as So Percussion, Andrew WK, and Excepter. Diamond Terrifier has performed at the Ruben Museum of Himalayan Art, NY MOMA's Clocktower Gallery, and is a frequent presence on Brooklyn's infamous DIY scene.
Leading up their debut full-length album, Hillmer will be releasing an exclusive new song every month as part of Diamond Terrifier's monthly singles series.
