VH1 has premiered the music video for “Happy Pills,” the “cheery, cutting” (USA Today) lead single from Norah Jones‘s forthcoming album Little Broken Hearts, which will be released May 1 by EMI’s Blue Note Records. The “Happy Pills” video—which was directed by Isaiah Seret—is currently featured exclusively on VH1.com, and will make its broadcast premiere this Saturday morning, April 7 on VH1 Top 20 Countdown.
NPR Music All Songs Considered recently featured the song “Say Goodbye” on their weekly podcast. Along with the lovely, melancholy “Travelin’ On,” these three songs hint at the breadth of new sounds that Jones and producer Danger Mouse conjured for Little Broken Hearts.
Jones will also be making a series of TV appearances this May in support of the album release. The Grammy-winning singer will be performing on CBS Late Show With David Letterman (May 2), ABC Good Morning America (May 3), ABC The View (May 7), and The Rachael Ray Show (May 9).
Jones will tour extensively in 2012, performing at a mixture of festivals, amphitheatres and theatres in the U.S. and abroad. Tickets go on sale this week for Jones’s August 12 concert at Harvey’s Outdoor Arena in Lake Tahoe, Nevada (onsale Friday April 6 at 10:00am PT) and her August 18 concert at the Marymoor Amphitheater in Seattle, Washington (onsale Saturday, April 7 at 10:00am PT).
