Fence Records label manager & Silver Columns singer prepares his second full-length solo LP, Secret Soundz Vol.2, with a wee taster track, mini-tour & an electric t-shirt / acoustic sweatshirt.

Johnny Lynch, aka The Pictish Trail, has grown a beard, pulled a bobble hat over his headphones, and created a lo-fi alt-folk gem... with scuzzed-up vocals, squealing warped guitars, and distorted drum machines all peaking into the red.

Savour it while you can, for 'Of Course You Exist' is but a mere glimpse of material from PT's forthcoming album, 'Secret Soundz Vol.2' - which was recorded up on the Isle of Eigg with fellow singer-songwriter Stephen Black, aka Sweet Baboo (a regular collaborator with Euros Childs, Cate Le Bon, and Slow Club). The first official release from the album will be a 7' EP in July, and the full album will follow this autumn.

Stream the lead track from the EP, 'Of Course You Exist':

The 'Of Course You Exist' EP does not actually "exist" as a physical record. Instead, it's sewn into the seams of a t-shirt and a sweatshirt, as two different download bundles. The clothing features The Pictish Trail's hairy face, as depicted by long-time collaborator and comic book illustrator Christian Ward. As well as 'Of Course You Exist', the t-shirt features two exclusive tracks, plus a remix from Edinburgh-based Fence Collective members, and current Chemikal Underground signings, FOUND. The sweatshirt comes with a different download bundle - acoustic versions of as-yet-unreleased Pictish Trail songs.

The Pictish Trail has put together a new band - comprised of members of Edinburgh slow-core noiseniks eagleowl, and Fence alt-thrash merchants The S'pergun. With this LOUDER sound, he will be playing select shows at the beginning of May, including a support slot with British Sea Power at their Club Krankenhaus residency in Brighton, and a Fence Records showcase at Camden Crawl.
