Marina and The Diamonds will release her new single ‘Power and Control’ on 9th July which follows the top 10 single ‘Primadonna’ and #1 album Electra Heart.

‘Power and Control’, written with Steve Angello from Swedish House Mafia and produced by Greg Kurstin, will be the next single to come from Electra Heart and will be released on 9th July. With intellectual but witty lyrics about the pains of romance backed by eerily fun, electro synths, ‘Power and Control’ is a perfect track to showcase Electra Heart which is an honest story of identity, love, rejection, doomed romance and hope all tinged with humour and British eccentricity.

Marina’s debut album The Family Jewels charted at #5 in the UK album charts and new album Electra Heart topped that by charting in UK Album Chart at #1. Electra Heart was Marina’s highest ever album entry and she also achieved her highest ever single position with a #10 single for new track ‘Primadonna’. With review comments for Electra Heart ranging from ‘a blistering album’, ‘slick pop tunes’ and ‘punchy dancefloor fillers’, it has proved a huge leap forward for Marina, underlining that she is amongst the most talented young British artists around.

Marina has taken her critically acclaimed live show to all points on the globe over the last two years and has firmly cemented a reputation as one of the most enthralling performers around. Marina is currently on tour with worldwide superstars Coldplay for five months on their US and European tour as a main support, and will be touring the UK for her rescheduled UK dates as follows;

  • June 20th // Glasgow, ABC
  • June 21st // Edinburgh, Queens Hall
  • June 22nd // Manchester, Cathedral
  • June 24th // Leamington, Assembly Hall
  • June 25th // London, Tabernacle

  • June 29th // Birmingham, Institute
  • June 30th // Sheffield, Leadmill
After a summer on the road in the USA on her own headline tour and on further Coldplay dates in North America and Europe Marina will be bringing her tour back to the UK for more shows in October.
