Cincinnati-based Close To Home formed in 2005 with a shared passion and dream. Calling themselves Close To Home reflects their desire to write about real issues that affect everyday life. The original line-up was put to the test as they suffered a tragic loss in 2006 when bassist Brad Andress lost his battle with cancer. In late 2011 lead vocalist Nick Stiens departed the band. The current line-up is Andrew DeNeef (Vocals), Josh Wells (Guitar), JJ Cooper (Guitar), Derek Foust (Bass) and Travis Hartman (Drums).
CTH have released three studio EPs, one live EP and two full-length albums to date - One Chance, One Time EP (Self-released, 2006), Standby EP (Self-released, April, 2008), Let It Be Known EP (Self-released, October, 2009). The band’s live EP, Legends Live On was self-released in 2008 and was the last live show that bassist Brad Andress played before his death. In 2010 CTH signed with Artery Recordings/Razor & Tie and in 2011 released their first full-length label album, Never Back Down.
The album was produced by Tom Denney (formerly of A Day To Remember) and co-producer Eric Tuffendsam, and combines elements of heavy post-hardcore and metalcore with pop punk, leading to a melodic hardcore sound.
Close To Home have toured across the United States with bands such as Silverstein, Dance Gavin Dance, I Set My Friends On Fire, In Fear and Faith and We Came as Romans.
