The Burqueño EP is an unrelentingly dance-floor ready package with a dark approach, that 'Broke Bad' upon inception: SEVEN NEW ORIGINAL Moombahton & 140 BPM 'Tijuana Bass' tracks that are unapologetically addictive and laced with a reckless attitude. A collection of pure substance engineered using his own unique musical intuition and his tenured-plus experience in studio production. Don Valdez has masterminded a brand new approach to Latin sound, that is both peligrosa and powerful, branded with searing Southwest bravado. The result is a digital crate consisting of only “babe tunes” – selective, sexy, and insatiable sounds that induce dance floor-wide deviance and inevitable gyration.
The name Don Valdez is fresh to the ears of EDM lovers since his debut mix appeared in late December of 2011 on TheMixster.com, however, Valdez himself is no newcomer to the world of Latin electronic music. Also known as EshOne, Don Valdez has been slicing up Latin sounds and creating his own brand of sound, Tijuana Bass, since 2009. Originally played in acetate dubplate format, the Tijuana Bass tracks were thrown into his 140bpm dubstep sets to liven up the dancefloor, and make his sound more “babe-friendly.” Valdez has seen much success with this brand of sound and recently acquired a taste for mid-tempo production, thus creating the Don Valdez pseudo to focus on multiple tempo, Latin flavored DJ sets.

Valdez’ debut release on Rot10 Musik saw remixes from some of the Moombahton scene’s heavy hitters, Jon Kwest, Cam Jus, Big Makk, Aylen, and Obeyah. Since then he has created dozens of tracks, from techno and tech-house inspired beats, to chunky, Latin flavored cumbia-esque rhythms – some featured on compilations such as:
– Rot10 Musik Invades Miami Vol. 2
– Jon Kwest Presents: Winter of Moombahton 2012 (Featured in DJ MAG)
– Walmer Convenience Presents: The New Wave 3
Named for the town Valdez grew up in, Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Burqueño EP features 7 original tracks, 5 of which are mid-tempo, and 2 are at 140bpm, “Tijuana Bass.” The album artwork reflects Valdez' unhealthy obsession with the TV series, Breaking Bad, a show that is truly representative of the badass-ness and culture that is Albuquerque. Elk Beats graphics are normally created in-house. However, for this special project, the label contacted the only agency that could handle the job - Accent Creative.
This release from Elk Beats is available for the purchase price of $5*, in a choice of either .MP3 or in .WAV formats, for no extra charge.
