Paying respect to Talk Talk – one of the premier English bands of the 1980’s – LIGHTS has crafted a stunning cover of their classic 'Living In Another World'. Featuring production and mix by UK crew Darkstars, the track is from the upcoming Spirit of Talk Talk, a tribute album featuring renditions by 29 other contemporary artists. Depeche Mode legend Alan Wilder serves as the project’s musical director, and as Recoil, also handles two of the covers.

Said former Talk Talk keyboardist and Darkstars rep Ian Curnow: “Once I heard the original LIGHTS version of ‘Living In Another World’ I jumped at the chance of involving Darkstars with it. There are clear links between what they are doing and the merging of both on this track has produced something truly wonderful. LIGHTS is the real thing and if there's any justice in this world she will be a hot name on everybody's lips before very long.”

Spirit of Talk Talk will be released by Fierce Panda Records on September 3rd. The double-album also features contributions from Zero 7, Joan As Police Woman, Duncan Sheik and White Lies, plus appearances by Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire and Sean Carey from Bon Iver. Proceeds benefit the conservation organization BirdLife International. Excerpts of several tracks from the album are available to stream at its official Facebook page.

LIGHTS continues touring internationally in support of her latest album Siberia. She will be playing a group of summer festival dates with new U.S. headlining dates to be announced shortly.

7.13.2012 – Common Ground Festival – Lansing, MI
