Stroll On Records (Acid Glasses, Ku Klux Glam, Zulu, Pyramid Vritra) have unveiled their latest signing Laser Background, with a debut, self-titled EP due for release on July 15th on 100 limited cassette tapes and digital download.

Laser Background is the alias of Philadelphia's Andy Molholt, whose debut EP combines a delicious mixture of saccharine synths and slacker guitar riffs. The waltz-like pace of ‘Mystery Airplane Girl’ and ‘Pinwheels’ contrasts with the scuzzier, more frenetic kick of ‘Weird Conscience’ and ‘Ghostman on Second’. Each song provides a glorious candy-coated hit of psych exploration; as pop songs become anything but thanks to the blend of oddball instrumentation.

Molholt is constantly unique in approach, rarely sounding like anything else on this planet. While the songs are immediately accessible, new ideas are bouncing off the walls and each track revels in the art of invention.
