The U.S. got their first taste of the British guitar-rock act’s power packed tunes in early 2011. The Vaccines were instantly embraced stateside; after only a handful of breakout shows at SXSW, the band was featured on the pages of Spinas a “Breaking Out” act and by Paste as the “Best of What’s Next.” Rolling Stone identified The Vaccines as a “Band to Watch”.
The past two years have been a whirlwind experience for The Vaccines. What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? has been certified Platinum in the U.K. and has earned an NME award as well as a Brit Award nomination. Since the release of their first album, the band has toured the world, covering the major music festival circuits, including coveted slots in the U.S. at Lollapalooza and Coachella. Additionally, they made their U.S. national television debuts on Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live! (view performances below), and have even collaborated with two of their idols: R. Stevie Moore and The Stokes’ Albert Hammond Jr.
The Vaccines’ live shows are not to be missed. Fans will get a chance to experience their infectious energy firsthand with upcoming U.S. tour dates to celebrate the release of The Vaccines Come Of Age (see below for dates).
