Today, Adele announced that she's expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki.

According to the Daily Mail, the Someone Like You singer, who had an absolute whirlwind of a year last year, has stated on her website to her fans that:

'I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.
'I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx'
We won't be seeing much of the London lass for quite some time now as she's recently told People magazine that "really wants to be a mum".

Also, after her incredible success at the Grammys in February, she told US Vogue that she was "fucking off for four or five years" in order to concentrate on her relationship.

She's been dating the 36 year old Simon Konecki since last summer, and went public with the relationship in January.

A flurry of well-wishing celebrities have been sending their congratulations via Twitter, where the likes of Lady Gaga said:
"Anyone hear the sigh of relief emitted by popstars worldwide when Adele announced her pregnancy? #ThatsTheTruthTea Congratulations gorgeous!"
