Holy Vessels’ debut single ‘Springtime Bloom’ will be released on the band’s own imprint, Hello Babe! Records, on Monday 2nd July. Having spent two years honing their blend of psychedelia and roots-flavoured rock & roll onstage at festivals, support slots with The Maccabees, Boy & Bear and Cloud Control, regular appearances at London and Brighton’s Communion nights, the band is preparing to release its debut album later this year.
‘Springtime Bloom’ is characteristic of the effortless blend of radio-friendly, country-tinged psychedelia which forms the first side of their forthcoming debut album Last Orders At The Marshall Arms. An independent recording made with producer and ex-Del Amitri guitarist Iain Harvie over a two-week period in a worn-out lambing shed in Cropredy, Oxfordshire, the album was mixed in Brighton by the band and producer Jag Jago, fresh from his work on The Maccabees’ recent hit record Given To The Wild.
The band is made up of Frank Ryan (vocals, guitar), Tommy Heap (piano/organ, vocals) Robert Mavers (bass, vocals), Joe Heaselgrave (guitar, lap steel, vocals) and Thom Mills (drums).
They also will be featured as front cover artists on July’s edition of the Brighton Source Magazine.
