The Balconies return to the road this summer with a slew of summer festivals in both Canada and the United States, including Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this week, and Edgefest at Downsview Park in Toronto on July 14th. The trio will also be supporting Los Angeles-based group The Aggrolites for three dates this August, including a stop in their hometown of Ottawa on August 2nd.
Summer festival season is already in full swing for The Balconies, who hit the ground running with performances during North by Northeast and SceneFest, as well as spending some time on the road with dates opening for the likes of Sam Roberts Band at Jackson-Triggs Winery, and a three-date mini tour with Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar. The group also played a few shows in New York City alongside U.S.S. in May.
It's been a whirlwind 2012 for the group. They released their EP, Kill Count on Coalition/Warner records in February along with a video for the title track and relentlessly toured for the month of March from the East Coast of Canada to Austin, TX for South by Southwest, only to return to Toronto for countless showcases during Canadian Music Week.

Those who have seen The Balconies in action know that their live shows consistently leave crowds wanting more. The energy that comes out of frontwoman Jacquie Neville, backed by her brother Stephen Neville on bass and Liam Jaeger on drums is an incredible thing to experience live. Veterans to the festival touring scene, The Balconies have appeared at Pop Montreal and NXNE, and opened for the likes of Juliette Lewis, Land of Talk, Cold War Kids, and Sloan. Always gaining momentum, it's looking like 2012 is the year The Balconies burst out of the Canadian music scene.
