Voxhaul Broadcast are in the midst of an astonishing upward trajectory. A product of the Silver Lake music scene which has brought us the likes of Grouplove and Young The Giant, this quartet of childhood friends (David Dennis, Anthony Aguiar, Phil Munsey II, and Kurt Allen ) will release EP Frozen Beach on July 24th, the day before a headline show at legendary venue, The Troubadour. Frozen Beachwill feature stand out single'Turn The Knife', a track that has been captured in groundbreaking fashion. The video is filmed in liquidmation, a process which combines traditional stop-motion cinematography with several modern digital tools to create the visual treat.
Having toured with Local Natives and Airborne Toxic Event, Voxhaul Broadcast have spread their unique brand of indie nationwide, something that becomes even more impressive with the knowledge that front man David Dennis grew up forbidden to play guitar. The son of Pentecostal missionaries living in Kiev, it was not until he moved to San Clemente CA. and met Phil Munsey II that his father allowed a teenage David Dennis to step onto the indie rock terrain.
The quartet met at Shorecliff Middle School and spent much of their school years bounding from band to band, with Allen and Aguiar setting up with Matt Vasquez of Delta Spirit at one point. Voxhaul Broadcast formed in 2007, and have caught the attention with the Fact, Fiction And Turquoise EP ( 2009) and Timing Is Everything LP (2011.) Boasting fans from NME to LA Weekly, Frozen Beachpromises to be the best work yet from a band who stand on the cusp of widespread acclaim.
