Critically acclaimed indie pop-meets-soul outfit Imaginary Cities have premiered their brand new video for album track 'Purple Heart' today on Purevolume.com. The video’s stunning celestial and earth-bound images complement this tranquil song beautifully and will leave you entranced. Watch it here.
The video premiere comes just ahead of the band kicking off their run of U.S. dates on July 14th, part of their larger North American headlining summer tour, which will culminate with a Lollapalooza performance August 5th. Look out for their Daytrotter session to be released July 17th. The band just wrapped up a tour supporting mewithoutYou.
Imaginary Cities’ debut album Temporary Resident (out now on Votiv Music)has received praise from critics. With principle songwriters Marti Sarbit and Rusty Matyas at the helm of the five-piece band, Imaginary Cities has emerged as one of Canada’s fastest rising groups. Marti’s sultry, soulful voice has been compared to a “Motown-treated Nina Simone” and they have been winning over every audience that sees them play live. Among their many accolades, they won the Western Canadian Music Award for best pop recording and were considered for the prestigious Polaris Prize in 2011.
Imaginary Cities have opened for The Pixies, Ra Ra Riot, Rural Alberta Advantage and more.
