3LAU is a progressive house producer and DJ by night; college junior at Washington University in St. Louis by day. His bootlegs and remixes have charted in the overall top 10 on both Beatport and Hype Machine. Combining Top 40 a cappellas with instrumental bangers, 3LAU kick started his career by producing signature mixes that transcend the traditional definition of a bootleg, seamlessly weaving tracks that breed dance floor filth. This spring, he raised $25,000 for Pencils of Promise, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating schools and education programs for global communities. 3LAU released a remix track on BEATPORT called “Back to New” and personally matched all of the track’s purchases to reach the $25,000 charity goal; 100 percent of the proceeds went to Pencils of Promise to help build a school in a needy country.
