The Killers have announced a very special warm-up show at Leeds O2 Academy on Friday, August 17th. This intimate show will precede the band’s headlining shows at V Festival the following weekend, giving 2,300 lucky fans the chance to see the Las Vegas band up-close and personal, playing songs from their upcoming album, Battle Born, in the UK for the first time.
Tickets for The Killers at Leeds O2 Academy show go on general sale at 9am on Friday, July 20th, via Ticketmaster.
After the Leeds O2 Academy date, The Killers go on to headline V Festival in Weston Park on Saturday, August 18th and Hylands Park on Sunday, August 19th.
About Battle Born...
As previously announced, Battle Born will be released on September 17th 2012. The Killers’ fourth studio album - and their first in four years - it is preceded by a single, Runaways, which can be heard now at http://www.thekillersmusic.com
The highly anticipated follow-up to 2008’s million-selling, hit-spawning Day & Age, Battle Born - named after the words emblazoned on the Nevada state flag, a motto that also gave the band’s Las Vegas studio its name, is everything Killers fans have waited for since the group announced they would be taking a break at the start of 2010. The lead single Runaways, a small-town drama of epic proportions, is everything you could wish for from the album’s comeback single; an unmistakably American expression of romance and optimism that heralds the band’s return with cyclonic guitars and a chorus big enough to be bellowed from one end of the Mojave to the other.
The Killers are Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboards), Dave Keuning (guitars), Mark Stoermer (bass) and Ronnie Vannucci (drums)
